Big Brother is watching you - legally

Hi to all,
at today's lunch I stumbled on an interesting article about mobile marketing 3.0 - I'd like to share with you. It was about an US start-up, named Sense Networks which evaluates data from mobile phones to classify target groups. Data is not only used to find the best bars at saturday night, but also to get economic insights.
They gave an example how they tracked mobile phones in the S.F. financial districts and got deep insights into the behavior of bankers, cleaning personal and so on.
Sense Networks believes, that the individual whereabouts of a person - if tracked over a certain amount of time - draws a lot of conclusions from that person's life. Like social environment, habits, preferences, money, ... - AND you guess right - of course they use all this data for marketing and advertising purposes.
For the consumer in you, there's the possibilty to profit from this as well - though you have to live in San Francisco (so far). Follow the link and find out, where other people just like you hang around:

In such moments I hate to live in a small black forrest city - as I would be the first to load that on my iPhone. How cool is that to see in advance if a party is worth going there or not ;o). On a professional basis I'd have even more imaginations with that ... we'll see how long it takes, 'til the media consults put it on my table.
