A key component in Search Engine Optimization is Link Building, creating or negotiating link-backs from one web site to another. Search engines view link-back quality as a measure of a site’s importance. Sites are deemed to be more important if they have large numbers of inbound links. If those inbound links are also from highly ranked web sites, they will boost the web site further. So, the more link-backs you have to your web site, the higher you’ll appear in search results, the more business you'll get, the quicker you'll retire.
To determine how many indexed links point to your site, visit Yahoo’s Site Explorer.
The new TAAN site provides a couple ways to link-back to a member agency’s site, through the Agency Profile which is automatic when you build your profile, with this Blog and in the Blog Roll.
When you post Blog entries, be sure to mention and link your agency within the blog. At DigitalDay, we do this wherever and whenever we can for ourself and our clients.
If you have a Blog, you can add a link to it from the Blog Roll after you’ve logged in.
You can also help increase TAAN’s link popularity (currently at 201 inlinks) by properly linking to www.taan.org from your agency website. “Properly Linking” means that the full HTML Href Attribute be embedded in your site on a page that can be indexed by search engines.
Typically, pages on all-flash sites can not be crawled or indexed by search engines so you need to do this on an HTML page.
Finally, a great way for Members to help other TAAN members is to create links to each other, from agency site to agency site. Perhaps this is something we can all work together on in the future.
